How to Get WordPress Emails in Your Inbox – Instead of Spam

Hi guys today we are going to teach you how you can receive WordPress emails to your inbox, not in spam. Now suppose you have a WordPress website and you have a contact form, now if a visitor tries to contact you WordPress will send you an email. Now if we go to our inbox you can see that we have not received that mail in our inbox instead it has gone to our spam folder. so this means you can miss important emails from your visitors and also if WordPress sends emails to your visitors that can also go to their spam folder. which looks very unprofessional and can make your visitors not trust your website so, after this article, you’ll be able to receive all the WordPress emails in your inbox.

Let’s get started we’re going to fix this WordPress email issue 2 parts. The first part is to create a business email now in order to fix the WordPress email issue you need a business email like contact@yoursite.com instead of a regular Gmail address. So if you already have a business email you can skip to part two but if you don’t have a business email don’t worry, we are going to see how we can create a business email. To create a business email we are going to do four steps.

Get WordPress Emails in Your Inbox

The first step is to create an account in Mailgun. So mailgun is the website that is going to help us create our business email for free. So to create the mailgun account. let’s go to mailgun.com and then click try mailgun now to create the account. Fill up all details now to prevent spammers from creating fake accounts. Mailgun will ask you to enter your card details now as you can see these details are required just for creating the account and you will not be charged any amount here. And click create account. Now it’ll take you to a page nowhere you can see that Mailgun gives us a free plan which has 10,000 free emails per month.

So this means you can send up to 10,000 free emails every month from your business email. So just make sure this plan is selected and then click go to dashboard. So now we have successfully created our Mailgun account. Now in order to use mailgun you need to first activate it. So to activate your mailgun account just go to the email inbox which you used for creating this account. Now you can see that you have received a mail from Mailgun. So let’s open it and then click this link and now your mail can account will be activated. So once you have activated your account you can now go to the next step.

Which is to add your domain to this account. So to add your domain just click add custom domain. Now enter your domain name in this box and then click Add Domain. So now our domain has been added toMailgun. So once you have added your domain you can now go to step 3 which is to connect mailgun with your domain. Now in order to create a business email you need to give access to mailgun to use your domain. So to give access you need to add these four records to your DNS settings page.

So usually the DNS settings page will be with your hosting provider. So since I have my hosting with GoDaddy I’m going to add these DNS records there. So to add these records let’s go to godaddy.com and then sign in to our account. Now next to your domain name click DNS. So this is our DNS page. Now we’re going to add these records into this page. So let’s click Add. Now select the type as txt as it’s shown here and then type ‘@’ here. Now click here to copy this value and paste it here then click Save. So now we have added our first record. So in the same way, we’ll add all the remaining records okay.

Now we have added all the records into our DNS page. Once you added these records now go back to this page and then click verify DNS settings and now it’ll take you to the page which means Mailgun is now successfully connected to your domain. So once you’re connected mailgun with your domain we can now go to step four which is to create a route in mailgun. So once you create a route you will be able to receive emails to your business email. So to create a route let’s click receiving an then click create route now click here and select match recipient. Now in this box you need to enter the business email id which you want to create. So it can be an email like anything@yoursite.com. So I’m gonna create my email id as contact@tryshirts.com.

So now we have entered the business email id which we want to create nowhere enter any Gmail address where you want to receive your business emails. So I’m gonna enter my Gmail address and now mailgun will forward all the emails sent to this address to this Gmail inbox okay. So let’s click create route and root will be created which means we have successfully created our business email. So let’s send a test email to our business email and see if we are able to receive it.

So to send the email to let’s go to a random Gmail account and click Compose now let’s send a test email to contact@tryshirts.com. Now if we go to the Gmail inbox where we forwarded our mail and click refresh you can see that we have received the email let’s open it. Now if you click here you can see that it was sent to our business email and we have successfully received it on our Gmail inbox. So now we have successfully created our business email.

So once you’ve created your business email we can go to the next part of this tutorial which is to connect your business email to your WordPress website. So once you connect your business email to WordPress you’ll be able to receive all the WordPress emails in your inbox. So too connected we are going to do three steps the first step is to add your business email in WordPress. So to add your business email let’s go to our WordPress dashboard and then go to settings and click general’ and as you can see we have an email address field here.

So to add our new business email in WordPress first let’s delete this Gmail address and then enter our business email in this field. Now click Save Changes and now WordPress will send a confirmation email to this address now to add your business email in WordPress you need to confirm your email address. So to confirm our email let’s go to this inbox and then open the mail and click this link. So now we have successfully added our business email in WordPress. So once you have added your business mail you can now go to step two which is to install a plugin in WordPress now this plugin will help us connect our business email with WordPress.

So to install the plugin, let’s go to plugins and click add new. Now search for WB mail SMTP and you will get this plugin. So this is the plugin which is going to help us connect our business email with our WordPress website install the plugin let’s click install you and click ‘activate’. So now we have successfully installed the plugin. So once you’ve installed the plugin you can see that we have a new button called WP mail SMTP. So now we can go to the final step of connecting your business email with WordPress which is to set up the SMTP plugin.

So once you set up the SMTP plugin you can receive emails to your inbox instead of the spam folder. So to set up the SMTP plugin let’s go here and click ‘settings’ and enter your business email in this field. Now in this field you can type any name which you want as your from name. So this name will appear when someone receives an email from you. So I’m going to type try shirts which is the name of my site. Now let’s scroll down now since we created our business email in mailgun let’s select mailgun from here and once you select mailgun it’ll ask you to enter the API key.

So to get the API key let’s go to Mailgun and click here and select API keys and as you can see we have got our API key here. So let’s copy this and then paste it in WordPress. So now we have entered our API key which means all the WordPress emails will be sent through mailgun. Now if your business email is from a different provider you need to select other SMTP here then enter the details given by your provider. Now since we are using mailgun once you’ve entered the Mailgun’s API key you need to enter your domain name here and then click Save Settings.

So now we have successfully connected our business email to our WordPress website which means all our email issues should now be fixed and all the WordPress emails will Now directly go to your inbox instead of spam. So to check that let’s go to our website. Now let’s say a visitor is trying to contact you and they are sending you a message through your website. Now if you go to your inbox and click refresh you can see that we have received the mail in our inbox and it did not go to spam okay guys.

So next let’s go to the bonus part of this tutorial where we see how we can reply to your emails using your business email. So now if we try to reply to this mail you can see that it still goes from our Gmail address which we don’t want we want our email to be sent from our business email which is contact@tryshirts.com. So to do that we need to add your business email to Gmail. So once you add your business email to Gmail you can start sending emails from your business email.

So the add your business email to Gmail just click here and then click settings. Now click accounts and import. Now since we want to send emails from our business email let’s click add another email address and you’ll get this window. Now enter your from name in this box. So I’m going to type tryshirts. Now in this field enter the business email which you have created. So I’m going to enter contact@tryshirts.com then click next. Now to connect your business email to Gmail you need to get these details from mailgun. So let’s go to our mailgun account. Now click here and click domain settings.

So to get these details just select SMTP credentials and you’ll find your SMTP details here. Now all you need to do is just copy these details and paste it here. So first let’s copy this and paste it here next let’s copy this one and paste it here. Now to get this password just click reset password and as you can see your password has been created. So let’s click here to copy the password and then paste it here. So once you added these details just click Add Account. Now Gmail will send a confirmation code to your business email.

So to get the code let’s go to our Gmail inbox and here you can see the confirmation email. So let’s open it now copy this code and paste it here then click verify. Now as soon as you click to verify your business email will be successfully connected to Gmail. So now if we click compose and click here you can see that our business email is now added. Now if you were to make this business email as you default from address just click here and then click settings now again go to accounts and input and click make default. So now we have made our business email as a default from address.

So now let’s go to our inbox and open the mail which we received from our WordPress website. Now if you click reply you can see that our business email is now selected by default. So now let’s send a reply mail to this visitor and now if you go to the visitor’s inbox and click refresh you can see that we have received the mail and now if we click here you can see that it was sent from our business email.
